Pollution
Pollution is a serious
issue that is currently happening around the world. It can be divided into a
few types of pollution including air pollution, water pollution and sound
pollution. Human’s behavior is the main reason why the pollution problem is
getting serious. It is no doubt that the advance technology is also one of the
elements that causes pollution problem around us.
Racist
Malaysia is one of the
countries that consists multiracial society which contains many ethnic group.
The major concern of the multiracial country is the racist problem. Racist can
be classified as the practice of racial discrimination. For example, Malay
people will have the prejudices toward Chinese people and cause
misunderstanding happen.
Rate of the teen
pregnancy
Nowadays, there is an
increase in the percentage of teen pregnancy in Malaysia. There are many
reasons that may lead to this phenomenon. One of the main reasons is the
influences of the media. When the television show the programs which contain
some certain sex scenes will bring up the teenager’s curiosity toward sex. In
addition, without the proper sex education is also one of the reasons that lead
to increasing of teen pregnancy.
Homosexuality
Homosexuality can be
defined as the intimate relationship between the two persons of the same
gender. In certain countries, homosexuality is one of the controversial issues
that is arguable for some people. In addition, minority people are still having
the concept that being a homosexual person is ‘abnormal’.
Commit Suicide
According to The
National Suicide Registry Malaysia (NSRM), there are a total of 425 commit
suicide cases happened between January and August in year 2010. This has showed
that many people do not own the ability to deal with the depression and assume
commit suicide is the only solution for them. This phenomenon is happened
because majority of Malaysian do not dare to ask the help from any profession people
to deal with their psychology problems. They afraid people will assume them as
‘crazy people’ which need to receive proper treatment to control their
behaviors.
Media Censorship
Malaysia has being
voted as one of the country that has the strictest media censorship around the
world. It is very common if the audiences found out there are certain scenes
being censored when they watch the movie in cinema. These scenes including sex
scene, violating scenes and scene that contain foul language. Some people believed that by showing
these scenes to the public will create the desire for them to do certain
improper behaviors.
Smoking
According to a
scientific report, there are estimate around 2 billion people in this world are
smokers. At the same time, the World Health Organization (WHO) has released a
report that stated every 6.5 seconds a current or former smoker dies around the
world. In Malaysia, there is an increasing of the number of smokers especially
the teenagers and women. They explained that the reason why they choose to
smoke is because of the stressful life they are facing. Minority from them
classified themselves as the ‘social smokers’.
Prostitution
Since ancient time,
prostitution has been classified as the oldest profession in the world. It is
also being identified as the major issue for most of the Southeast Countries.
In Malaysia, prostitution is not something new and there is even something
called ‘sex tourism’ to Malaysia. This has showed that the prostitution
phenomenon is getting serious in our country.
Gender Equality
According to The
United Nation, gender equality has been defined as the important human rights
in this world. In eastern countries, there are still exists certain group of
people that discriminate the women’s right in their life especially in the
occupation field. There are still certain fields of occupations that only accept
man including the military field.
Obesity
Nowadays, obesity
appears to be something that is very common and might happen to anyone
including young children. Obesity is considered if there is an increase of 20%
higher than the person’s bodyweight.
Malaysia has been ranked as the country that has the highest obesity
rate in the Southeast Asia. The Malaysian’s eating habit has been classified as
the major cause of this phenomenon.
