Scamper

Scamper can be defined as the useful technique that plays a very important role in generating ideas. It used a series of questions to challenge our ideas in order to overcome any problems that we would be facing. Scamper is an acronym which stands for

S-Substitute

-The video has only shown three examples of teen pregnancy from America only which represent the Western culture. I would like to replace it by showing show real examples from our country Malaysia to represent the Eastern culture. 

C-Combine

-From the video, it mostly only interviewed the young mother about their feelings toward their pregnancy. To create a more ideal video, I would like to interview the young  parents, their parents, friends and people that surround them in order to have a deeper understanding towards this issue. 

 A-Adapt

-By showing their ordinary life in the video, it gets to show the real side of having kids at such young age. I would like to do the same thing too in order to reinforce of how serious this issue might be and how it affect our life. In addition, I would like to add on certain questions such as ‘do u regret about what you have done?’ and what advise you would like to give the juniors?’ in order to form a positive message for the new generations. 

M-Magnify

-To magnify my ideas in this video, I would like to include the statistic on the percentage of teen pregnancy in our country. After that, I would like to compare to the percentage with the past to show how the percentage of teen pregnancy rapidly grows in these few years. In addition, I would like to survey the high school students regarding the sex before marriage issues in order to reveal their opinion towards this issue. 

P-Put to other uses

-I would like to put my current ideas to other issues including abortion and baby dumping. This is because these three things are closely linked to each other and will create greater impacts from it.

E-Eliminate

-Compare to the video, I would like to eliminate the facts that they are using a male emcee to interview the young children. I believe that women will do a better job in comforting the young mother’s emotion. I would want the interview to be something more caring because the young mothers now mostly are facing difficulties because the pregnancy has leads to a dramatically changes to their life. We need to show them that the society is still caring for them and willing to help them. 

R-Rearrange

-I would like to rearrange the order by starting the video to show pictures of teen pregnancy in order to catch the viewer’s attention. The statistics regarding the teen pregnancy will be following after that to roughly do an introduction. After that I would like to insert some clips that show the young parent’s daily life and lastly only the interview part.
